Student-Authored Ethics Vignettes: Giving Voice to Values All Semester
This activity describes how to combine student-authored vignettes (mini-cases) with the Giving Voice to Values approach to ethics education. It links cases to various OB topics during the semester, giving students multiple opportunities to discuss ethical issues and develop strategies when faced with unethical situations. Benefits of this approach include having numerous short cases accessible to traditionally-aged college student and heightening curiosity about how peers choose to act. With repetition during the semester, students improve in their ability to identify options and plan arguments to back their value-based positions.Author(s):
